But right now we talking bout one special story – Da Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) wen celebrate their big 60th anniversary dis month by honoring 14 of their old workers who wen receive the center’s Living Treasures award. Not only dat but eight more people also got honored with the center’s exemplary services award at two private events held early August time, said PCC’s vice president of cultural presentations Delsa Moe.

Dese Living Treasures to us guys, deir value keep going up as times change fast-fast with all these modern conveniences,” Moe say. “We recognize how important it is for keep dese traditions alive an’ we hope that the young ones goin’ take interest an’ continue these cultural practices.” The first time they gave out this Living Treasures award was way back in1980; nine hardworking individuals who had been working there for at least ten years either as a regular employee or contracted by PCC were recognized. Dese guys are all experts in what they do within PCC and even outside; their work aligns with PCC’s mission, an’ now dey no longer employees of the center, Moe explained.

On top of that, da center’s exemplary services award was created in 2013 fo’ honor those outstanding workers who exceptional kine areas outside of cultural expertise.
