Da C8 Corvette Going Hypercar Style in Italy! Dis Italian company, Ares, stay turnin’ da C8 Corvette into somethin’ wild!
Dany Bahar’s chop shop makin’ da Ares S1 and it go cost a million dollars! Ares been ’round since 2014 an’ dey already made limited-edition cars based on Bentley, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche…even Tesla!
Dey only gonna make 24 of da Ares S1. Limited edition fo’real.
Plenny exotic car brands get stories ’bout passionate artisans workin’ hard fo’reach perfection. But wen you gotta take off one bodykit to put on anodda one?
Das where tings get brutal and butchery-like. We went visit da shiny factory in Modena, Italy where dey had dis brand-new red C8 Stingray parked next to a slaughterhouse.
No joke! We neva see dem use air chisels or anyting like dat thoughโthank goodness!
A lot go down at dis factory. Dey only build two dozen of dese special Corvettes so every step move slow like molasses.
Wen we was dere we saw two sides: one side had dis beautiful red Stingray wit all its plastic still wrapped up lookinโ real nice; other side had old Vette stripped down bare bones wit jusโ floorboard left standinโ. It looked sad wit its little stubby fists begginโ for justice.
But don’t worry too much โcause even dough it seem wrong takinโ apart a perfectly good carโit ainโt wasteful either! Dem guys sell off all dem salvageable parts so somebody else can use โem again.
Now hereโs someting interesting: rebodied Corvettes bin happen since time immemorialโor at least as long as people been drivinโ Corvettes. Da Italians especially good at it!
Back in 1959, Carroll Shelby and his buddies from Texas sent three naked C1 chassis all da way to Italy for Carrozzeria Scaglietti to work on. An’ guess what?
Dem guys send back three coupes dat look like Ferraris! Fancy stuff.
Even General Motors got in on da action one time!
