โฌ‡๏ธ Pidgin | โฌ‡๏ธ โฌ‡๏ธ English

Ho, braddahs and sistahs! Get one supa big pilikia goinโ€™ on inside da GOP. Da beefs and throwinโ€™ shakas (not da good kind) inside da party get everybody all buggah. Plenny peeps stay worried cause of da hard-core guy, Jim Jordan from Ohio. Dey tink dis guy make choke kine bad rep for da Republicans who wenโ€™ support him. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

Ova dea in California, right on Western Avenue in Buena Park, get one big kine billboard showing Michelle Steel and former big boss man, Donald J. Trump, next to Jim Jordan. Da sign stay saying, โ€œRep. Steel Supports Extremism. Stop da extremism.โ€ Ho, bumbye! ๐Ÿ›‘๐Ÿ“ธ

Da Progressive Change Campaign Committee wenโ€™ shell out da kala for dat sign, and dey all out foโ€™ make da Republicans like Ms. Steel look bad, especially da ones from areas where President Biden wenโ€™ win in 2020. Twelve of da Republicans dat stay kinda shakable wenโ€™ vote foโ€™ make Mr. Jordan numba two foโ€™ da big boss of da land. ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ›

Get one oddah group, da Congressional Integrity Project, dey stay making digital ads dis week. All talking stink about Mr. Jordan and how he stay trying foโ€™ mess up da 2020 election. Ho, da drama neva stop! ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Plenny peeps saying how dis GOP house drama make da whole party look all hamajang. Da party stay like headless chicken, no mo’ leadership, and Congress stay stuck in da mud for weeks. Dey all thinking dat da Demz might just win big next year. Plus, da Democrats get choke ammo foโ€™ talk story bout da Republicans being all radical. ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ

Don Bacon from Nebraska, one Republican guy, he said all dis drama stay hurting da country, da Congress, and da GOP party. And he tink all dis kine drama goin’ make tings all buss up foโ€™ next yearโ€™s voting time. He stay saying his own peeps wenโ€™ move to kick out Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and now everything all topsy-turvy, โ€œDey all like being da undadogs,โ€ he said. And dey just like foโ€™ say โ€œnoโ€ and make big noise all day. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ”Š

Da problem stay, no mattah who ends up being da Speaker, da fact dat Mr. Jordan wenโ€™ get nominated goinโ€™ make da Democrats all excited. Dey goinโ€™ use dat foโ€™ tie all da Republicans to da most radical ones in da party, making tings all kine risky in 2024. And even though get some Republicans tryna push back against all dis kine “extremism” talk, da Democrats stay all out foโ€™ make Mr. Jordan and his supporters look bad. ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒ‹

And even if Jordan no make um as Speaker, all da confusion goinโ€™ make da Republicans look all lost, like dey no can run anyting. Foโ€™ da Republicans who stay in da middle and not too extreme, dey tink da damage stay done already. No mattah who ends up winning da vote, or how long it takes. ๐ŸŒ€๐Ÿน

Da polls show dat plenny peeps tink da Republicans should work togeddah with da Democrats. But also get some who tink da Republicans only should work with each oddah. But da whole ting stay messy. All kine politicians voicing deir opinions, switching deir votes, and all. Some even wenโ€™ say dat all dis drama no good if dey like win back da majority. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐ŸŒบ

But still get some confident Republicans who tink all dis chaos just goinโ€™ be forgotten by da time November come around next year. Dey stay saying dey get da strong candidates and dat dey still get da upper hand ova da Democrats. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿค˜

Yet, even with all dis, da political weather stay kinda da same from last year. Da only big change stay how da House Republicans no can run tings. Some Republicans still stay hopeful, tinkinโ€™ dey voters goinโ€™ see past all da drama.

Marc Molinaro from New York, who wenโ€™ vote foโ€™ Mr. Jordan, said, โ€œIf we stay pono and true, and do good foโ€™ da peeps, dey goinโ€™ see dat and judge us right.โ€ So, we goinโ€™ see how dis all play out, yeah? Until den, keep your ears open and your shakas flying! ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿค™๐ŸŒด

๐Ÿ” GOP Scramble: Could Lose House ‘Cause of Internal Bickahz ๐ŸฅŠ

Da mess and fightin’ inside da GOP ๐Ÿ˜ damage da party’s rep, and plenny worry dat da candidacy of da strong-headed Representative Jim Jordan done seal da fate of some Republicans who wen’ support him.

In California’s 45th Congressional District, along Western Avenue in Buena Park, one beeg billboard ๐Ÿ›ค gonna show one picture of Representative Michelle Steel next to da ex-President Donald J. Trump and Representative Jim Jordan, da strong-headed Republican from Ohio she wen’ vote fo’ twice dis week for speakah.

“Rep. Steel Supports Extremism,” da billboard says. โ€œStop da extremism.โ€ โœ‹

Da ad campaign, paid fo’ by da Progressive Change Campaign Committee, is part of one big effort by Democrats ๐Ÿ”ต fo’ target Republicans like Ms. Steel, who represent congressional districts dat President Biden wen’ win in 2020. About twelve of dose vulnerable GOP lawmakers wen’ stand on da House floor dis week and cast deir votes fo’ put Mr. Jordan second in line fo’ da presidency.

Anodah group, da Congressional Integrity Project, wen’ start a digital ad campaign ๐Ÿ“ฑ dis week in dose same districts, focusin’ on Mr. Jordan and his tries fo’ overthrow da 2020 election.

โ€œEvery House Republican who votes fo’ Jim Jordan fo’ be speakah of da House should be held accountable fo’ his efforts fo’ overturn da 2020 election, his role in da Jan. 6 fake electors plot, and his continued attacks on our democracy,โ€ said Kyle Herrig, da boss man of da advocacy group.

Da latest round of House Republican infightin’ done bad damage to da GOP brand. It wen’ leave da party without a leadah and one part of Congress no can function fo’ more than two weeks. Da chaos is uppin’ da chances dat Democrats ๐Ÿ”ต could win back da majority next year, and it wen’ give ’em plenny ammo fo’ deir campaign story, which paints Republicans as far-right crazies who no fit fo’ lead.

โ€œIt hurts da country; it hurts da Congress; itโ€™s hurtin’ our party,โ€ said Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska, one of 18 Republicans representin’ districts won by Mr. Biden in 2020. โ€œItโ€™s puttin’ us in one bad hole fo’ next November.โ€

He said his hard-right colleagues who wen’ move fo’ kick out Speaker Kevin McCarthy earlier dis month and started da whole mess to replace him โ€œwant to be in da minority.โ€

Mr. Bacon added, โ€œI tink they would prefer dat. So they can just vote no and just yell and scream all da time.โ€

Da Nebraska lawmaker wen’ oppose Mr. Jordanโ€™s candidacy, but he and oddah mainstream GOP lawmakers worry dat, no matter who finally gets elected speakah, da Ohio Republicanโ€™s nomination only wen’ help Democratsโ€™ efforts fo’ tie ’em to da most hard-right members of deir party, makin’ deir seats risky in 2024.

Republican groups pushin’ back on one story of extremism and no-work. Da American Action Network is runnin’ an ad campaign ๐Ÿ“บ praisin’ 16 Republicans in Biden districts who wen’ vote fo’ stop a government shutdown last month.

But Democrats ๐Ÿ”ต grab every chance fo’ condemn Mr. Jordan, and Republicans fo’ backin’ him.

โ€œJim Jordan is da poster boy fo’ MAGA extremism,โ€ Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York, da minority leadah, said on Tuesday night.

In one speech on da House floor where he wen’ nominate Mr. Jeffries fo’ speakah, Representative Pete Aguilar of California, da No. 3 House Democrat, wen’ present one case against Mr. Jordan dat could have been used as a pattern fo’ a campaign attack ad against any Republican who supported him.

โ€œA vote today fo’ make da architect of a nationwide abortion ban, a loud election denier, and one insurrection stirrer da speakah of dis House would be one terrible message fo’ da country and our allies,โ€ Mr. Aguilar said.

Da candidacy of Mr. Jordan, da scrappy co-founder of da super conservative Freedom Caucus and a key playa in Mr. Trumpโ€™s efforts fo’ flip da 2020 election results, wen’ leave plenny House Republicans in a lose-lose spot.

If Mr. Jordan does win โ€” somethin’ dat looked less likely on Wednesday aftah he lost a second ballot โ€” his risin’ up would make solid da House GOPโ€™s rep as an extreme group dat is made of Mr. Trumpโ€™s loyal soldiers. And if da hard-right lawmaker doesn’t win, da confusion in da House could keep goin’, only makin’ stronger da view of Republicans as totally no can govern.

Fo’ mainstream Republicans representin’ districts dat can swing either way, da damage might already be done no matter how da vote ends, or how many rounds it takes.

โ€œItโ€™s hard fo’ present yourself as one person of bipartisan deal-makin’ and middle-ground when you vote fo’ someone who dead set against any kind of bipartisan deal-makin’ and is da farthest ting from a moderate dat a voter can imagine,โ€ said Geoff Garin, a Democratic pollster.

Democrats ๐Ÿ”ต been sharin’ data from YouGov Blue, a research division fo’ progressive and Democratic clients, dat found dat 63 percent of people in a recent survey said dat moderate Republicans should work wit Democrats to make a bipartisan governin’ group. Only 37 percent of people said dose moderate Republicans should only work wit oddah Republicans fo’ elect a new speakah.

Christina Bohannan, a Democrat goin’ up against Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks in a competitive Iowa district, said her opponentโ€™s vote fo’ Mr. Jordan on Tuesday โ€œshows her real values and how different dey are from Iowa values.โ€

She mentioned dat more than 60 percent of Iowans no agree wit Mr. Jordanโ€™s stance in favor of a nationwide abortion ban, and pointed out dat he nevah wen’ vote fo’ a farm bill, one of da most important tings fo’ da state.

โ€œDis is a real slap in da face to Iowa women fo’ Miller-Meeks fo’ support him,โ€ Ms. Bohannan said. โ€œI no can imagine a more clear example of how Representative Miller-Meeks is sellin’ out Iowans to da extreme members of her party instead of takin’ a more bipartisan stance.โ€

Ms. Miller-Meeks on Wednesday changed her vote, not supportin’ Mr. Jordan anymore and votin’ fo’ Representative Kay Granger of Texas, instead. But da damage wen’ already happen.

Some Republicans wen’ admit dat much on Tuesday.

โ€œThereโ€™s no way we win da majority if da message we send to da American people is we believe da election was stolen, and we believe dat Jan. 6 was just one tour of da Capitol,โ€ Representative Ken Buck, Republican of Colorado, said on CNN. โ€œDose are just not issues dat are goin’ help us win seats next November.โ€

Yet plenny othah House Republicans wen’ remain hopeful, arguin’ dat all of dis will be forgotten by next November. Some even said dat, in da short term, da protracted fight fo’ speakah could help GOP candidates in primaries next year.

โ€œIf we remain true to our principles and deliver results fo’ da American people, dey will remember dat in November,โ€ Representative Marc Molinaro of New York, who wen’ vote fo’ Mr. Jordan, said in one interview.
