Wat wen happen was, dis cheerleadah from Texas, Payton Washington, she wen get shot aftah one of her friends went accidentally jump inside one wrong car in April. 🚗🙈 She nevah even see da guy who wen shoot her, and she was tryin fo’ keep her friends calm, even while she stay bleeding. 💉💔

“I was just texting and eating Twizzlers,” Payton wen rememba during one interview on ‘Good Morning America’ when da shooting start. “I nevah even see him, fo’ real.” 📱🍬💥👀🚫

“I wen hear wat was going on but I nevah think it was going to be one big deal. She just keep saying like ‘I sorry, I sorry,’ das da last thing she really said,” she wen tell dem. 🗣️👂🙏

But aftah da first shot, she “wen turn around right away.” 💥⏰

“I nevah know wea it was coming from or anyting but it being so loud dat my ears was ringing, I know I gotta turn and do something,” she said. 🎶👂💭💡

“We was trying fo’ get away as fast as we could. All da other girls was screaming. I was just telling myself no breathe. It was hard fo’ breathe cause of my diaphragm,” she wen explain. 😤💨📣

Despite her injury, her focus was keeping her friends calm. 🤕👭🕊️

“I was trying fo’ stay as calm as possible fo’ da other people in da car. I could tell how sad and scared dey was. Da more calm you are, like your body will stay calm as well,” she said. “Of course it was scary but I wasn’t going to act like I was scared.” 😨🚗🌊🐢

Den she wen notice blood on her passenger seat, but she couldn’t tell wea her wounds was cause of her adrenaline rush. When dey pull ova, she start to throw up. 🚗💺🔴🤮

“I was throwing up blood and I was like oop das not normal. So das when I knew something, somewhere was wrong,” she said. 🤮💔❓

She wen get airlifted to da ICU in critical condition and she soon find out her spleen was all busted, she had two holes each in her stomach and diaphragm. She wen say in her treatment doctors had to remove one lobe from her pancreas and she had 32 staples all ova her body. 🚁🏥💊👩‍⚕️💉 Heather, her friend, was just grazed by one bullet and da two other girls in da car was not physically hurt. 👩‍⚕️🚫💥

Washington, one decorated champion cheerleader, was determined to get back her strength but no was easy.

“It was hard. Hurting to walk or stand is really weird when one week befo’ you was doing all kine flips, running da track, and doing long jump,” she wen tell ABC News. “No can get out of bed by yourself, no can roll off da couch, no can stand by yourself, going up da stairs I’d get winded. Just stuff you nevah thought of befo’,” she wen keep going. 🛌🏃‍♀️🔁💨

Her faddah, Kelan Washington wen tell NBC News his daughtah was strong and had an “undeniable will not to settle for anything.” 🏋️‍♀️💯

“Payton’s accomplished everything she has with only one lung [from] when she was born. She’s as tough as they come,” he wen say. 👶👩‍🎓💪

Five weeks lata, Washington has made big strides in her recovery and was able to wear one cap and gown and join her friends at high school graduation. 🎓🏫🎉

Suspect Rodriguez Jr. was charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony, Elgin police said at da time. According to online jail records, he was released on May 12 on a $100,000 surety bond. 👮🔒💰

His attorney, Charlie Baird, said in a statement Friday dat Rodriguez was employed at da H.E.B. and was a victim of a robbery in a car in da past. He was startled when one of da young cheerleaders wen enter into his car and thought he was going to be robbed, Baird said. 🚗👩‍⚖️⚖️

His bail was reduced to $100,000 from $500,000 aftah a hearing “wea da judge heard evidence regarding da circumstances of dis incident, and learned of Pedro’s ties to da community and his lack of a criminal record,” Baird said. 🏛️👨‍⚖️💸
