Da officers wen catch Jackson Pinney, 30 years old from Hayward, by Douglas Boulevard an’ Auburn-Folsom Road in da aftanoon 🚓. He get two kine cars: one 2002 gold Ford F-150 wit California license plate 6V04299, an’ one 1996 white Acura Integra wit California license plate 6FWU532. He stay charged wit attempted homicide, assault wit one firearm, shootin’ from one movin’ car, shootin’ at one occupied house, an’ gettin’ one gun wen you not suppos’ fo have ‘um.

Da staff not yet in da area wen told fo stay home an’ work remotely, while dey wen evacuate da Kapitol. Oddahs stay asked fo stay in dea offices.

The California state Capitol was closed to the public on Thursday afternoon due to a “credible threat” made against the building, and the California Highway Patrol was searching for the suspect 😮. The individual who made the threat was previously involved in non-injury shootings in Roseville and Citrus Heights.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Jackson Pinney from Hayward in the afternoon near Douglas Boulevard and Auburn-Folsom Road 🚓. He has two vehicles: a 2002 gold Ford F-150 with California license plate 6V04299, and a 1996 white Acura Integra with California license plate 6FWU532. He is charged with attempted homicide, assault with a firearm, shooting from a moving vehicle, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

🏛️ ‘Credible threat’ prompts evacuation at the Capitol 🏛️

The Senate delayed a floor session that was supposed to start at 9:30 a.m., and lawmakers checked in for the session in another building down the street. Zavala saw security turning people away at the door at the Capitol. Some people were seen leaving the building at the N Street entrance.

However, the situation appeared calm, and the streets in the area were not blocked off 🚧. A protest was taking place on the west side of the Capitol as well.

A memo sent to senators and their staff from the secretary of the Senate around 9 a.m., obtained by KCRA 3, said that the CHP and partners were increasing their security presence in response to the credible threat 📄. “At this time, Floor Session has been delayed until 9:45 a.m. and will be held in the 1021 O Street building, Committee Room 1200,” the letter said.

Staff not yet in the area were told to stay home and work remotely while the Capitol was evacuated. Others were asked to remain in their offices.

Around 10 a.m., lawmakers and members of the public were allowed back into the Capitol 🚶‍♂️. “I’m OK, the members are OK. Members are safe,” Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon said while returning to the Capitol.

However, as of 3 p.m., the building was closed again ❌.
